Your Mercury-Free Dentist

Our fillings have been mercury-free for over 30 years. Even though mercury fillings are considered safe by the American Dental Association, we choose to use a tooth-colored composite material that bonds to and strengthens your tooth and blends in seamlessly with your smile. If mercury is a concern for you, you’ll love our composite fillings as much as we do!

BPA-Free Composites

Composites are used for fillings as well as for dental bonding. We use a variety of composites to perform our restorations, and some of these are BPA-free. Let us know if you would like us to use only BPA-free composites in your treatments, and we’ll be happy to accommodate you.

Metal-Free Dentistry

At least 15% of the population is allergic to some type of metal, and some patients prefer to avoid metal in their dental restorations because of possible sensitivities. At Alabaster Aesthetic Dentistry, we avoid metal by using composites for fillings and high-strength ceramics for crowns and bridges.

At your request, if your treatment involves dental implants, we can substitute zirconia implants for our more usual titanium implants so that you can have a completely metal-free experience no matter what type of treatment you need.

Sanitary Amalgam Removal

If you are concerned about the mercury fillings you already have and want them removed, we can take care of that for you. During the amalgam removal process, we use a rubber dam to isolate the tooth with the filling from the rest of your mouth. This way, when the amalgam is removed, it will not come into contact with your mouth at all. We also use high-volume suction to prevent mercury dust from entering the air. We finish by replacing the amalgam fillings with natural-looking composite fillings that restore the beauty of your smile!
